"The Swedish Academy, which selects the Nobel winner... has tolerated genocide denial and sexual assault." - theintercept.com Peter Maass Oct 7th 2020
Genocide is bad. Sexual assault is bad. Both are crimes and in a civilized society, there are mechanisms for handling matters of violent crimes against the person.
I have a friend. My friend is accused of sexual assault. I don't denounce him but instead, if it is important to me, I talk to him about it and investigate the circumstances. Does it redefine the friendship? The choice is personal, between me and my friend and my circle of individuals; the latter because my choice affects their impression of me.
